According to the SPVM, Benredouane was 34 years old and had served with the department since 2021. The police service said he died “in the performance of his duties protecting the population” during the intervention in Côte-des-Neiges.SPVM also described his death as “a great loss to our organization” and said his “sense of duty, dedication and professionalism will always be remembered.”The department also announced that its flags would be lowered and invited members of the public to send condolences to the officer’s family and colleagues.
