Kai Trump Shares Hospital Photo After Second Wrist Surgery — Her Message Reveals What Comes Next

Kai Trump, the 19-year-old granddaughter of President Donald Trump, has shared a health update after undergoing another wrist surgery following an injury during her first college golf tournament. On Wednesday, October 14, Kai posted a photo from her hospital bed on Instagram, showing her left wrist in a cast and sling. The injury happened during the Golfweek Fall Challenge in South Carolina, where she reportedly struck hard concrete beneath the ground while taking a shot near a cart path. Although early examinations suggested she had avoided a complete tear, further assessments revealed damage involving cartilage and ligaments. This marks her second surgery on the same wrist this year, after undergoing a procedure in January. Kai had previously tried stem cell injections in hopes of avoiding a lengthy break from golf, but ultimately decided surgery was the best option for her future. After discussing the decision with her family, coaches, and athletic training staff, she chose to prioritize her long-term health, even though the timing was disappointing.

In her Instagram message, Kai admitted that the recovery period was not how she had imagined the next few months, but said she was approaching the challenge with patience and determination. She thanked Dr. Carlson and the team at HSS in New York, along with her family, teammates, and coaches, for supporting her through the difficult moment. Kai also expressed gratitude for the people who continue to encourage her as she works toward recovery. Her injury comes during a major transition in her life, following her move from Jupiter, Florida, to begin college at the University of Miami. In a September YouTube vlog, she became emotional while saying goodbye to friends before leaving for university, describing the move as exciting but difficult. Although she has not announced a specific return date, Kai remains hopeful about getting back on the course. She ended her message with a determined promise to return to her team and the sport she loves, saying she would come back “stronger and more grateful than ever.”
