A family in Middlesbrough faced unimaginable grief when a funeral for a son turned into a second tragedy. David Beilicki, 41, was found dead at a relative’s home on July 31 after years of battling addiction. His funeral took place on August 21 at St Bede’s Chapel in Teesside Crematorium — exactly ten years after the memorial for his stillborn twin sons.
As mourners carried David’s coffin into the chapel, his father, Norman “Nosha” White, 61, suddenly collapsed at the doors. He was rushed to the hospital but couldn’t be saved. His daughter Chantelle later said she believed he “died from a broken heart.” Doctors note that extreme grief can trigger “broken heart syndrome,” a sudden heart problem that can sometimes be fatal.
Norman was remembered as a devoted father, grandfather, and friend. His funeral is scheduled for September 18 at St Hilda’s Chapel, followed by burial at Acklam Cemetery. Chantelle shared online that the emotional strain of burying his son had been too much for him to bear, describing the day as one of overwhelming sorrow.
A week later, she shared a personal memory of her father’s rare emotional vulnerability when she was gravely ill, recalling his tears at the hospital. She said his strength shaped her resilience and that losing him so suddenly has left a lasting void in their family.
