Friends Remember Nancy Guthrie’s Last Days before Her Disappearance – Details

Just days before her disappearance, 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie was enjoying her usual routines — laughing with friends over mahjong, celebrating her birthday, and making plans for her regular Sunday gathering to watch her daughter Savannah Guthrie’s church service broadcast. Despite slowing down physically in recent years, Nancy remained socially active and independent, still walking to get her mail and keeping up with friends, books, and games. When she failed to appear for her usual Sunday meet-up on February 1, concern quickly grew. Calls went unanswered, and when her daughter checked Nancy’s Tucson home, it was empty, leaving friends and family stunned that someone so connected and routine-oriented could suddenly vanish without warning.

As the investigation unfolded, authorities released doorbell camera footage showing a masked individual approaching Nancy’s home and attempting to disable the device before removing it. Even though the camera was taken and Nancy did not subscribe to cloud storage, investigators were still able to recover critical footage, potentially due to how the device stored its last recorded data. Experts remain divided on whether the suspect was inexperienced or highly composed, but many believe this recovered video could become a turning point in the case. As the search continues, Nancy’s loved ones cling to hope that new evidence will bring answers about what happened and lead investigators closer to finding her.
